P.A.U.S.E

You know those moments when you feel like you can’t take one more thing? Or those moments when your brain has hit the fast train to every bad scenario there possibly can be? These are the moments that fear has stepped in and is leading you straight down the path of anxiety lane. When our brains start to overreact then our bodies start start to over react causing our bodies to experience things like shoulder pain, stomach aches, and headaches. In the moment it might not seem like a big deal but if you continue to live in that kind of stress over time you can start causing yourself to have health issues. Stress reaks havoc on your body and it’s immune system and you certainly don’t want that to happen. When you remind yourself to stay present in the moment and calm your brain you are also calming down your parasympathetic nervous system which will lead you to a healthier and happier you. So how do you do that? One way is to P.A.U.S.E.~ purposely ask urself to stop and exhale. I know yourself starts with a “y” not a “u” but work with my acronym here LOL

Here are the steps to PAUSE:

•When you feel like you are overwhelmed gently say to yourself...PAUSE...if possible step outside or look outside the window, nature is a healing modality.

•Slowly exhale out of your mouth all the air out of your body, it helps to do this with an audible sigh.

•Slowly inhale through your nose to the count of 4

•Slowly exhale out your mouth to the count of 8

•Repeat this at least 4 times or until you feel your brain and body settle down

Use this P.A.U.S.E. practice whenever you feel you’re going down the path of anxiety lane to help you stay more on the path of a healthier and happier you. #selflove #selfcare #anxiety #stress #spiritjunkie #health #happiness #mentalhealth #ahealthynhappyu
